Construction Workforce Summit

PRODUCTIVITY / DELIVERY / SITE PERFORMANCE

Workforce and change management strategies to increase productivity, project delivery and site performance in Australia’s construction sector

10th September 2025, Doltone House Hyde Park, Sydney

About the Event

We’re pleased to announce the launch of the Construction Workforce Summit taking place September 10th in Sydney.

With no shortage of work, projects and opportunity construction companies need to refine and revamp their workforce productivity, talent, and change management strategies to sustain a competitive advantage. Some industry estimates suggest that there will be a 40% shortcoming of the available workforce within the next few years, so companies need to strategise and invest into recruitment, retention, training, automation, technology and development of skilled tradespersons, managers and leaders to fill that gap.

Additionally, the industry suffers from a lack of diversity with women and minorities so there is even more pressure to refine recruitment, retention and workforce management to overcome the current and pending shortages while growing their businesses.

The Construction Workforce Summit brings together senior leaders responsible for workforce performance and delivery across Australia’s construction sector. This includes operations executives such as COOs and General Managers, along with preconstruction, project, construction, and safety/quality managers who are directly accountable for productivity on site. Joining them are workforce and talent leaders, training and development specialists, and people and culture executives from major contractors – as well as government and industry stakeholders overseeing skills, migration, training, and industrial relations policy. They will come together to discuss workforce productivity, talent, and change management strategies to create capacity, support project delivery and contribute to the nation’s economic success.

OPENING PANEL: Boosting productivity: how are construction leaders reshaping their workforce strategies?

As construction companies face mounting labour shortages, rising costs, and shifting workforce expectations, increasing productivity is no longer just about efficiency—it’s about sustainability. • Retention Through Better Conditions: How reducing overtime and improving workplace culture can actually boost efficiency
  • Attracting the Next Generation: What Gen Z expects from construction careers and how the industry must evolve
  • Technology & Innovation: The role of automation, digital tools, and smarter work structures in improving productivity
  • Leadership in a changing industry: Steps companies can take now to build a resilient, motivated workforce
